BFA Summer 2016

This past summer BFA took on a bit more relaxed tone as home-Bible studies and regular Kidz Klub were put on temporary hold. BFA continued holding Combined Communion the last Sunday of each month, and with good attendance and a positive spirit about this new format, elders and leadership are encouraged to see this format continue on a monthly basis. Of course, the other Sundays regular breaking of Bread and Family Bible hour as we continued to study the Gospel of John. The Sunday School held a picnic and supper at Kettle Lakes on June 26th to celebrate the start of summer. We were also able to celebrate a very special Birthday for Vickie!
The start of summer began with a visit of Philippine Missionaries Pat and Karen Carder. They enjoyed sharing at various churches in the north, and were also able to share their vision at BFA on July 7th. Each third Sunday was Bring & Share lunch Sundays....and summer saw no change to this welcomed time of fellowship. On July 24th, we hosted a baptism Sunday, with Nick and Lucy baptized. Such joy was experienced by all as we heard of each one's decision to follow Jesus, and the impact the new birth made in their hearts.
Sat, Aug. 27th we enjoyed the BFA summer end BBQ and Music Night. Thanks to Wally and family for opening their home and hosting this wonderful time. What a delightful evening as almost sixty members and families came out to have a supper, swim, and make some praise music to Jesus. What a wonderful relaxed time of joy as we sang, played guitars, flutes, and cajun box drum. While 2016 summer may have come and gone at BFA, our prayer is that the good memories and eternal fruit will linger.
