This past Christmas Eve, around eighty gathered together at BFA to enjoy a time of praise, celebration and wonder as we viewed "Christ, God's gift to the Poor". Selected readings were given from scriptures on the themes of the poor and Jesus. Jesus, a gift to a people of poverty was read by Judy, while Wally read "God raises the Poor".  Rod re-enforced the message that there are 'Blessings of the Poor" while Jason reminded us that "God hears and Delivers the Poor".  "God saves the Poor" and the "Poverty of Jesus" were the final readings. Interspersed between were carols (Silent Night, What Child is this? Hark the Herald, Joy to the World) while various others shared their gift of music with us. We enjoyed solos by Amanda and her daughter, an organ solo by Vickie, a hammer dulcimer solo by Fern, a trio of Wally, Carman and Dave, a violin duet with Becky and Sophie, "Little Drummer Boy" by Stan, and a closing vocal solo by Hannah singing "Emmanuel". Each child present was given a goody bag of sweets, while all those attending received a complimentary copy of the Message on the Christmas story. All in all, the evening was a reminder that the one who came in poverty and was laid in a feed trough, was none other than the one who came for all...including the poor.
