Great Whale River (Kuujjuarapik) Mission 2013
During the past several years, the Great Whale Mission Team travelled north to minister to a Cree-Inuit village in Northwestern Quebec on the coast of the Arctic Ocean. While the team looks to the Lord for the provision of their expenses, one of the ways this is accomplished is by doing a series of fund raising activities that all the youth can enjoy. This began with the Spaghetti Supper on June 8th. Gratefully held at South Porcupine Pentecostal Church, this years event consisted of a variety of styles of spaghetti (mild to hot) as well as salads and bread. Tea, coffee, and dessert rounded off the meal, while the youth ministered the message of hope through vocal and music. Supper entrance was by donation and while this years event supper was actually less in numbers of participants, we were informed that the funds raised actually went up over last year. Praise God!
The next fund-raising event was held one week later at the Open End Youth Centre. The annual garage sale was again a blessing; and many bargains were to be found. Finally, the Annual Car Wash was held on July 6th. Despite a quiet start, this wash saw plenty of cars go through the spray. Again, there was no set fee requested for the car wash, and some vehicles really through in their financial for the team's needs.
The team is to be in Great Whale to assist with a 5 day Vacation Bible School during July 27-31. Your prayers for this outreach would be most appreciated.
